Now I've opened a Pandora's Box! hahaha Always glad to do!! :woohoo:
I seriously think it's a swell idea. Between Scotch and Tacklehappy, this HAS TO BE DONE.

I had a thing bouncing around my skull regarding a guilt and practicality of this. That's the practicality of us who are bare mortals. While I have no intention to sell my bike when done, does it increase or decrease the value? It does definitely decrease the originality. I'd love to have an original working perfectly, but I can't ignore my tendencies to improve what could be. In my case, the costs are also the issue. I bet most can relate to this. It's a step by step, working with what you have, then considering upgrades and alternatives after all works! Not before ;)

I see two routes for me. One polishing and making it work the OEM complete system, the second would be implementing all the improvements.
Which I would choose depends on 'the community input'. Translating it: positive vibe, support, brothers in arms and the will to live fast and die young! hahahaha

Calming down a bit. It would be wonderful to have a thread started on implementing this M-unit. Bare frame to a fully functional system. I bet the author could even get some endorsements from the supplier? (wink wink - re: funds for the original project considering what sales it might bring to the seller)

Are we ready to start the M-unit dedicated thread to keep it streamlined before people forget about my poor rusted bike here? hahaha
All is good either way. My bike gets the exposure! lol

PS. Really interested in step by step of this.
PS2: The mock up spare frames from the other member would come in handy!
PS3: Scotch - no excuse to be bored and out of projects!
PS4: me - get it done right

Tim (Tonto):

I decided to stay away from gloss to have more contrast between black and chrome. I thought it might be better in case of KZ1300. Vmax has different shapes.
I am sure you have seen Vmaxe's painted fluorescent green and orange! I bet you did. Not my preference, to say it lightly! What were they thinking?!! Of course it comes down to personal taste. I considered painting the KZ1300 sort of metallic first. That would also look good. By the way, you meant Sean when talking guru, right? I was going to ask him which paint he uses. The one you mentioned is not available here in Canada as far as I know...

I think there is no 'best way' when it comes to look. And it gives me sleepless nights running my silly mind in circles, LOL Ideally I'd have one in each style.

To kill two birds with one stone - one as a teaser to Scotch in regards to the polishing theme, LOL, and the second to make myself wet again over the rear wheel, here is a quick photo of my Vmax rear.

By the way, I need these 3 rubbers (air ducts). Mine are completely gone. I will make a separate thread about needed parts/services for this project. This is a preview.

Scotch, the trap. The omnipresent trap. Menti0n 'wet' and it will bring a friendly curious wolverine in! LOL We do need to feed on the ideas and possibilities. Or just adjust things which don't align? I bet you know what I am talking about. Live long the free ideas!

I DO think a thread designated to this electronic unit would be just awesome. I am all for it. That is except the fee for now.

PS. Scotch - got screwed over submitting this post. Did the Ctrl+a, Ctrl+C, then Ctrl+V. Didn't save my day for sure until I did the Ctrl+V and my long lost short lived cousin came back to life! . Notepad then cut and paste and stay safe. Forum's a blazer recently by the way. All working great, almost like trying to make fun of my bike.... Too much fun, too fast! Live fast die young? Maybe I have all these mixed up and screwed up and I just don't know what the hell I am talking about ... :silly:
