Regarding the parts, Kawasaki.com has all the parts diagrams.
I use their 1982 A4 model page

To choose another type of vehicle or another KZ 1300 year or model, screen down using Kawasaki parts starting page . They even have the option of looking up a bike by VIN. I was told that the Canadian site (which will be kawasaki.ca) is coming up.

I will check the links to yellow passivating. I watched videos about it on youtube recently and have been thinking of just that! You're reading my mind Biltonjim.

Scotch! I will do all that what you said. It would be silly not to do it having the whole bike in parts. The gasoline is different than 35 years ago, it will be good to have extra access to the carbs for quick emergency cleaning and fine tuning the air-fuel mixture. I will leave it for another day when I am just focused on this type of fine work. I need to tidy other things in the meantime. Organize, organize, organize....

Regarding carburetors..... Is there a secret source of just the o-rings or do i need to buy them (if available) one by one? Or do I need to buy the whole repair kits?

Hello Stan,
You might like to read this page:

By the way, I hope you don't mind if I ask: Is there a "Mrs. StanG" ? I'm guessing not - I cannot imagine any woman agreeing to share a home with motorcycle parts and tools etc.!!

I am both. You wouldn't imagine what I wear at home...
Nooo, just kidding!!! Better to clarify this right now! Not that there would be anything wrong with that, haha There is no Mrs. SG, but I share this place with a female. We became like a family and she has no problem with and is looking forward to bringing the bike here. She became to love motorcycles thanks to meeting me and I am very lucky to have a roommate like this. When I work on the bike tools and parts are around. Otherwise everything gets tacked away and if I invited you here you'd have to play peekaboo to find anything! It's just a clean neat place most of the time. Although the carburetor is a semi-prominent fixture on the coffee table in the living room. I use newspapers and rags and never leave anything dirty lying around and clean every time I finish something. You'd be surprised how much can be accomplished with simple organizing and sorting things out, and developing efficient routines.

I read threads about carburetors rebuilding but missed that part. Thank you Biltonjim! The 0-rings list is being made as we speak and I will be hitting that website ( theoringstore.com) soon.

Besides o-rings, these throttle shaft seals seem to have a different shape. I haven't counted them, but there are maybe 6 needed if dissembling all, but just 3 when doing the dead ends on each curb. What are their dimensions? Did you mention them Kawboy?
