Last night I took care of the air/fuel mix screws and removed the plugs (thanks Scotch for the suggestion!)





After heating the carbs up a bit, I used a reverse thread extractor to remove the plugs. They came right out.



It was easy to pull the springs with it as well. Done

While sitting around I started reading the FAQ section for the first time. WOW! it's 100 pages of knowledge beyond the service manual. So many things to consider and change. First, I want to thank Bill for putting it up and the rest of the people who are listed as those who put it together. I am putting this bike back to health and a lot of things I do are straight forward trying to keep things perhaps outdated, but close to original. But I can see how much can be done on these bikes. I admit, I got a bit addicted to KZ1300. Once I get this one running, I am sure I will be looking for another one and doing it very slowly combining and implementing the alternative solutions and upgrades. Cheers all sixers!

I was just going through the parts and came back to looking at the cam chain sprocket. I have never seen a new one so I don't have a point of reference.
How does it look in comparison to a new one?

Might be repeating but the kz1300.com is an obvious alternative. Already have it bookmarked.

My gear looks like new by the outside shape, but are those grooves from chain links there on purpose or signs of wearing down?
