I've just found this thread..excellent upgrade info ,thanks. Got straight on ebay and won a pair of GL1100 coils AW82 for £12 including a rectifier and starter solenoid so the bargains are easy to find, looking for another I've found another pair of GL1100's which look the same in the pic but are stamped AW83-TR1, does anyone know if they are the same spec or changed. Love this site and the shared knowledge off you guys

Sorry to drag up an old thread....
Is this mod compatible with the A3?
I figure anything I can do to look after the CDI on this thing the better I'll be in the long run.

The Y wire that comes from the coils and would normally go through the resistor -- that goes to the starter switch, where it appears to connect to Br.

So the - side carries +12V?
