I rescued from a drawer the crankshaft bearings changed a year ago and compared them with what I found yesterday.

No difference whatsoever, it's the curse of this engine.

On the left the old parts, on the right the “new” ones.

I also disassembled the crankshaft, once on the workbench I measured all its crankshaft journals.

Piston number 1.

Piston number 2.

Piston number 3.

Piston number 4.

Piston number 6.

On piston number 5, the damaged one, I have been able to take several measurements, it has been unevenly scored.

This is what the damaged crankshaft journal looks like.

As for the metal filings, they are everywhere in the bottom of the oil pan, they are not attracted by the magnet.

This has been my great weekend.

Non-Ferrous material. What does this indicate? Where would it come from?

Just a thought have you mic'd the ID of that con rod maybe it needs to be resized as well
wouldn't  material Non-Ferrous be the babit material from the bearing?

Probably aluminum from the bearing. Plain bearings are made of either a copper or aluminum base with a Babbitt Lead overlay . The overlay can be anywhere from .005" - .015"

One half of the bearing shells looks really pounded and with only 60 kilometers of running time, suggests to me that oil lubrication was minimal allowing the bearing shell to heat up and deform, then it slipped around to the opposite side of the conrod and laid on top of the other half shell. Pure speculation here, since I've never seen anything like it before.

Wondering if it's possible to somehow inject a known pressure of oil into the system (somewhere) then visually observe if that crank journal is flowing?
