We can get a good idea what the engine is going to look like from viewing the green ZRX1300 on the home page, assuming you paint the block black.
As for the frame, I will choose gloss black for mine, but each to their own. Metallic would look great, I'm sure.

The top is completely clean. Next the sides.



When removing the old gasket I made contact with the new satin black painted as trial surface, and just after 24 hours it was strong! The PJ1 paint earned my respect.
For the Canadians, it was back ordered but became available again from Fort9 website.

Well my friends, a happy feeling today. I might just crank it up and annoy the neighbors with some loud music! haha
(no, I wouldn't do it to them so early in the afternoon... LOL)

OK. More seriously. Just made a trip to Point Roberts and picked up a couple things. The tool box looks like new, and so does the front brake master cylinder!
Beautifully done! The new stainless steel sleeve is perfect! :) Since I am going to powder coat the frame, I might just ask them to powder coat this little gem as well.





The weather was superb as well. Great trip to Point Roberts - as always. What a refreshing time away from Vancouver! Always good to hear the engine alive and lean sideways a bit further than possible when walking :)

95 USD, but I paid a bit less because of a previous arrangement which didn't include unexpected time making a customized holder for these bikes. I was told that the next time would be cheaper because of now he has it set up. Either way, 95 is way better than anything offered in Canada.

Time to clean up the crank case inside before flipping it over. There was some black residue from the old oil after sitting for years untouched, and a few pieces of the gasket which made it there despite stuffing rags in the openings around the rods.

I raised the case off the ground, tipped towards the back, and put a plastic tub underneath. Then sprayed generously everything with WD40 and let it drip into the tub.



Next I bought this plastic injection tool for cooking and generously applied engine oil a few times everywhere, giving the crank shaft assembly to lubricate well at the same time.



Next I used a specialty long screw driver with attachment to pinch screws, but cleaning pieces of old bed sheet in this case.



Then came the cleaning the bottom of the case from all the possible angles, applying oil, new rags, cleaning and so on.

You can also do some extra cleaning from this bottom opening on the right side. The cylinders 1,2,3 are connected, so it's a good extra access point.
