I think it applies to both the carb and the DFI version.
However, I think I miss read it. I removed my injectors by loosening the clamps that tighten the rubber grommets between the manifold and the injector bodies. Then, I just pulled all three injector bodies off as an assembly. I *think* what the manual may be referring to is that there is a metal piece on top of the injector bodies that has a bunch of screws in them to tie all the injector bodies together. I guess if you disassemble them into individual injector bodies they can get out of alignment with the manifold. But, if you leave them as an assembly, as I did, I think I am OK. Can anybody confirm that? I cannot find that special tool anywhere.
Having said all that, I can tell by looking at my injectors that someone has been in there before. The fuel lines have hose clamps of two different types and the rest have oetiker clams and some of the fuel lines are newer then others. How much the previous owner(s) took apart and for what reason I have no clue.

OK, make sense now, I didn't take the bodies apart.
I just took out as complete unit and install them back after cleaning, didn't have any issue
the fuel hoses sometime get dry and break specially if the bike was not in use for a long time.
