The fun continue

Frame, engine covers, forks, triple tree, wheels, swing arm and other parts are in powder coating

engine prep is done, primer and painted... let see how that will hold

I remember I saw on one of the topics discussion about painting and powder coating prices.

I got the quote for the powder quoting... $750
I know it is a lot of money but for me it is worth it, I want to do it one time and for this to look good.
For me its better then painting specially on the frame after all the welding and sanding, the sandblasting and powder coating will hide a lot of the imperfections of my work (and I need it!!)
I also know it is a lot of work for them, all the parts need to be sandblasted before
And I gave them many of the small parts like foot pegs, small brackets etc., time is money
If I was doing only the frame, wheels forks I was much cheaper
I just hope it will look good at the end, one week till I get it back
I’ll post some pictures when I get the parts back

Got back most of the parts from powder coating
also all new stainless steel bolts
it end up to be $550, $200 less then original quote
tomorrow the fun begin...

Plenty to keep you busy! I like the fact that you’ve brought all the parts into the house to photograph - are you going to rebuild the bike in there? Might as well do the job in comfort! From the pictures, it seems you have chosen a satin finish for the parts. Will you add any chromed or polished parts as a contrast?
I think the black finish suits the 1300 engine.

Did you cover the swing arm pivot and mounting screw holes when you sent the frame out for powder coating or will you have to take that material off now to bring the holes back to size? Looks good though.

the work I'm doing in the garage but all parts will stay at the house till I need them
this part of the house is a no walking zone!!!
the frame, wheels and fork will be glass black
the engine is metallic black and the rest of parts will be satin black.
I will have some gold on the front calipers and the disk, the oil lines will be red
the gas tank and tail section may be gray, not sure yet, I will make the decision after the bike is done.
since all was sand blasted and powder coated will need to tap all the threads
and sand some locations as the swing arm pivot and few other locations
Hope to finish the engine this weekend and prepare the frame
for sure by next weekend i wont to have the engine back in the frame
