From 1984 Voyager to a street fighter

Speedometer time…
I tried to leave some of the original look of the Voyager, and I think the gas tank with the instrument on top is one of them
Did a lot of work to fit the speedometer in this location, and not 100% sure that I will leave it this way or that this is the final design,
may make some more changes or switch location

Also, I do have another gas tank at home with couple small dents
this will be the last piece to fix and paint

new switches arrived,
after 3 set of switches decided to go with M-Switch Mini
they are expensive but look good.
received the switches and M-Button Saturday and installed Sunday.

I can tell you that if you try to put the M-Button inside the handle bars its a pain!!!
It may be easy if I was using different bars, the Pro Taper I use are very thick and the space inside the tube is limited
I made it work but I didn't like the end results.
I think I'm going to re-do it in the next couple days

I tried that as well, failed, and in the end put the M-Button in my headlamp cowl. Much easier and neater as all switch wires go there.

this is the plan for the weekend, re do the switches and should have the parts back from powder coating
I wish for productive weekend

If I understand this correctly; it was difficult/impractical to run the wires through the bars. I ran all my wires inside my bars and it was a bit of a task. Each wire had to be fished individually and then reinstalled in it's appropriate plug and orientation. The results are worth it and I'd do it again but it takes time and patience. Special attention must be paid to the holes drilled into the bars. Smoothing the outside and inside edges of these holes is critical to avoid the otherwise sharp edges from cutting into the wires insulation. Running the wires internally sure cleans up the appearance .

Hi Scotch,
The issue was not running the wires, that was easy task and came out good
The issue is to install the M-Button inside the bars and connect to the switches
too many connections inside the bars
It is possible, I have done that, but don't like how it came out
I will still run all the wires inside the bars but the M-Button will be in different location

I will add good pictures when redoing
