The part looks plenty beefy enough to take a parking lot bump. If you hit that at speed.... we’ll you where probably headed towards having a bad day anyway...

:woohoo: Yes.......If you run over "something that big" to make contact with the adapter, it would be the least of your problems !

I thought you'd have it sorted out before putting up a sale proposal.  For what it's worth just looking at the old photos of the deep sump and the shallow sump in front of me, while internally both take the same oil filter, right now I don't know if the oil passages are the same. Perhaps that wouldn't matter. But one detail seems to not favor the deep sump.. The 'canister' containing the filter sits much higher inside the engine on the shallow sump, while it seems to sit much lower on the deep sump. I have a feeling that this spin off filter adapter would make it way low towards the ground in comparison to having it on a shallow oil pan. So, perhaps not so good for deep oil pans?..

Deep sump.

Early type sump.

Not sure scotch ever put up a sale proposal. I kind of feel like I prompted this all by asking ;)

I thought you'd have it sorted out before putting up a sale proposal.

That's because - as stated earlier - I wasn't planning on selling them! So now I'm answering questions as they come in.

Thanks for the pictures. It appears that the difference with the deep pan is merely an increased depth of the oil-pick up/screen well.
With my shallow-pan the adapter is 1" higher then the lowest point of the DG collector. Because the adapter is on the center-line, clearance with either shouldn't be an issue either. As suggested - if you run over something THAT big, to hit the adapter - you'll be having the wreckage towed and you'll be replacing the front rim/tire and the header down-pipes............, just for starters. These are not off-road machines !

It looks to me like it will probably clear the deep pan, but the deep pan will block a good bit of air so you would get less cooling benefit.

scotch:

The machinist stipulated a minimum of 12. They would sell for about $200.00us each. If there's interest I'll confirm the price.

I thought this qualifies as a sale proposal? Anyway, scotch and I go way back in conversations and we like to bug each other sometimes, like any good family members do! haha
