I thought the 3 ohm coils were to much for our delicate CDI units ?
thats why i thought the AW82 coils were better at 2.5 ohm

I have never heard of a 3 ohm coil damaging a CDI unit. I have seen people remove their 1.5 ohm factory coils, upgrade to a 3 ohm coil and not remove the ballast resistor. That combination can cause problems.
Once the 3 ohm coil is installed, the ballast resistor must be removed.
Regards.

Toddh is right the paper work that come's with the coils tell you to remove the ballast resistor from the system and to now gap the plug to .35. This system is going to throw a hotter spark across a wider gaped plug. Should make for easyer start up when cold or first start up. Got my Gunson plug in mail today too got one more coming that way I can do two cyl at a time.
