Anyone would know where I can get the plastic ignition cable holders? I don't know how they are called, but they look sort of like brass knuckles. I'd like to keep the HT's together. I think scotch you have them. I saw them in your photos.

Stan - made mine from some 1/8" nylon. (kitchen cutting-board material) Cut to size, drill 3 holes, open-up those holes on one side just enough to allow the ign.-cable to be inserted and retained.

I know it has been discussed previously, but I wonder just how hot those resistors will become. I would have thought ‘ not very’ - as the coils don’t draw a massive current, and the resistors are quite a low ohm value, and presumably up to the job. I do wonder, though, if mounting them in a location which subjects them to engine heat, and fixing them side by side in contact with each other, might result in the resistance value increasing, though to what effect I don’t know. Could they be mounted on a nice slab of alumin(I)um and positioned elsewhere? Sorry to ‘muddy the waters’ Stan. This coil debate sure is interesting.

Thanks scotch, I already chose to go the DIY route, but might do it from a piece of heavy rubber using a hole punch.

Biltonjim, great to see you back! That's what I was thinking - moving them elsewhere. But the much higher resistance oem coils (1.7 Ohm) sit in the same spot, so unless Kawasaki made a poor choice in their design, I think it should work without issues. I was thinking about spacing them as well, but the oem coils are a one piece of combined 5.1 Ohm while these will be just 1.2 - much less. I just followed what Neville did and worked for him. He also did some calculations and the numbers were good.

In the future, when the bike is running , I will have more time for tinkering. But in a longer run, I am thinking about doing what scotch did - plugging the reed valves on the exhaust (have a spare cover to do all this), remove the vacuum air valve assy, and install Ford coil pack.

I know you love EBay so search "Spark plug wire separators, looms" There's 763 products available . Every color, size, pollished stainless, plastic, and I could go on........

hey Stan - I tried Rubber and it was too soft when it got warm. I stayed away from those nice EBay aluminum ones that KB refers to simply to avoid any possibility of cross-firing. Just my preference and perspective and no screws to undo !

GM used plastic wire separator's on their v8's maybe try a auto supply store or Canadian Tire,
