This just reinforces the idea that when you buy a used motorcycle, that you should always drop the oil pan and clean / service the oil strainer. Finding things like this gives you an idea of how well the motorcycle was maintained and gives you a head start on saving the motorcycle from major repairs.

That be FUGLY! Know a guy who never changes oil. Says it's a waste of time and money. Surprisingly, he has several high mile vehicles he applies this policy to. Just adds oil as needed. I'm not that guy. I'm Mr. 3k miles, max, using quality oil.

I have cleaned the oil pan, all its ducts as well.
My cleaning bucket is full of gold flakes, there are people in the Yukon who would kill to have a pan like that on their gold concession.
I have also adjusted the timing point, this weekend I will start closing the engine case.

Making progress. Good for you. I wish I could dedicate as much time as you have and finish mine, but I have other obligations that keep me from working steady on my bike.
Keep up the good work and pace. It's inspirational.

There are days when I spend an hour, others I'm so tired that I don't even feel like looking at the bike.
I hope this weekend to have the engine head and move a little further.
I'm afraid when the electrical part arrives, new coils and old connections...

Today I went to the workshop to pick up the repaired engine head.
Its cost was 200 euros of work added to the 100 that the two new exhaust valves cost me, the total was about 300 euros.
This is how the valves that have been replaced were pitted.
Once assembled they look good.
The new valve is somewhat different than the original one.
This weekend I will patiently assemble the engine.
