Stan I've read they are M3 x 6mm, but don't have any badges or mounts myself so haven't tested.

Also read that on the large square tank they are longer (bigger mount I assume).

It's really strange seeing your rounded tank, here in the UK for decades I never knew they existed, until getting involved in the nightmare of ownership : )

1999 K1200LT - now sold, I like them however was nearly as big as my X5 but no faster.

The lower handlebar bolt - I broke the stock bolt when tightening and just haven't removed it yet.

Thank you RChaloner, I will first try that size. The parts list online doesn't even list them as a separate item. These are really small short screws.

The tank is 'sport' from what I hear, made in the USA bikes. I was also used to the large ones looking at photos online - I think majority of KZ1300 show them with those big tanks. Very distinctive. But I also like this smaller one I have. I goes well with the massive engine, bringing it even more to the foreground. Eventually I will probably get those stripes for the 80's vintage look. But I am liking the plain look as well.

Bucko - the paint. I was talking to someone I just met about bikes and my KZ1300 story, and he offered to paint it for me as a favor. So yes, it is local but not through any shop or any information like that to give away. He did it specifically because wanted to help me with the bike, I am not sure if otherwise he paints for people, but I can ask.

Those screws for the badge are still available, Stan. They are shown in the ‘Labels’ section of the parts list.

For reference, the part number for the screws is 221C0306. I wonder how much Kawasaki asks for them? haha But what I really need is to clean those threads.
I just measured the screws and indeed they are M3 x6.

Correction: the new part number for these is 221AB0306. Discounted price is CAD 2.78 each.
