More: ( There's some "parallax" from the camera's P.O.V. so ignore that and take the measurements at face value.

I'm so generous with 'thank you's' today! haha Great photos scotch! :) They surely belong to this thread.

It's all clear now. I don't have that triangular cover, now I see that's where it attaches.

One more question. If you go back to my original borrowed photo, you can see a hole right next to the air filter in the air box element. There are two of them and they are not blind. Does the tray that sits on top top of it have a couple of 'nipples' for positioning or is there anything else going on there? I couldn't figure it out from the photos yet. Looking at the diagram, I'd assume a couple bolts go there to mount the tray, but these holes are just plastic and no threaded metal bushing there. Maybe I am missing those?
Without the tray I need to keep the air filter in place and covered. Do these two stay open or do they get closed with the stock cover?

Hope this helps. Note: In the second photo - I added the two larger bolts with threaded pop-rivet type threaded inserts to ensure a better seal, so the two socket-heads are the two holes I believe you're referring to.

I just have two holes here, I think that's where your Allen bolts go. 'Threaded pop-rivet' - a new vocabulary for me. I guess these would work with those two present holes.
Do you need a special tool to install them or they expand itself? Another Home Depot visit.

Investment for the future - got this complete cover for $12. One day later I'm going to clean it all up and plug the reed valve holes, like scotch suggested, and grind those raised ports and lower the valve covers (keeping them if possible for pure visual effect) so I could fit those alternative larger coils, like those from Ford.
Whatever modification I will do on this bike, I will always keep the stock parts ready for a swap, so the bike will always stay true to how it was made.

Stan, see: www.princessauto.com/en/detail/45-pc-thr...tool-kit/A-p2925204e

I'd be cautious using these on plastic though as they may expand and crack the plastic.
