1980 KZ in Georgia (NE of Atlanta). 24,000 miles. Hasn't been on the road since 1998. *Looks* in pretty fair shape. $1700 BAT

This bike has no title. But Georgia is a "Titles Optional" state for this age. That might mean it's a non-issue getting a title in your home state. The Texas rule for bring in a vehicle is "An original out of state title or other valid ownership evidence". So the paperwork this guy has plus a bill of sale ***MAY*** be enough to title it in a "Title Required" state (like Texas).

This whole "Title" "Ownership" issue is very confusing to those of us who import vehicles into Canada. US customs wants 72 hours with original documentation to check for a clear title (ownership) , that there are no liens or encumbrances registered against the vehicle and that it's not reported as a stolen vehicle. I shy away from possible purchases if there's no Ownership available for the possible purchase. It's such a shame when you find a great bargain and then there's no paperwork for it.
All across Canada, all vehicles have an ownership registered to the vehicle when the original purchase was made at the dealership. If an ownership is lost and the original cannot be found in the Ministry of Transportation database, the present owner can swear out an affidavit with a lawyer and then the Ministry can issue a new ownership. There's absolutely no reason why any vehicle in Canada could or would be sold without a valid ownership. So confusing when we Canadians learn about how the different stated handle "paperwork" for proof of ownership.
