Phil,

I have modified the air box so only the top section is used with 3 x K&N pods fitted to its base.
The mesh is just to cover the hole left in the frame where the remainder of the lower air box used to fit.

Impressive work!

Would you mind sharing a picture of the airbox with us? I'm curious as to if you used that custom aluminum airbox with pods that has been offered online or if you rigged your own somehow. Sounds like a worthwhile mod!

Mikez,

No problem sharing any info on my bike with all you guys.
Please see best pictures from different angles I have of the said airbox below.

Its basically the top section only of the standard airbox, with a flat stainless steel base with 3 x round sleeves welded on to accept the 3 K&N filters. Its basic but works a treat & DOES NOT REQUIRE RE-JETTING.
The standard airbox & filter on a Z1300 restricts the airflow anyway (which is why most run rich) so this mod allows the bike to breath & run much smoother in my findings.

JANUARY 4th 2013.

Another good days work......cylinder head fully built & valves shimmed with ignition pick ups & inlet rubbers fitted.

Looking good your efforts are spurning me on to get going on mine.
