If it's any consolation, my crankcase was missing twice as many screws as yours, four empty holes I found.
Plus your main bearings look better than mine.

I assembled my crankcase using silicone gasket and the remains dirty the oil pump pre-filter.

For that reason I was asking you what type of sealant you used, it is impossible for me to find ThreeBond or Permatex Motoseal in
Europe, I wasted the afternoon trying to buy a tube and the shipping cost me more than the damn sealer.

I got the new Ramsay primary and secondary chains in and timed the primary. What a pain in the ass trying to find the timing dot on the crankshaft. You almost need a magnifying glass to see it. It's the size of a pimple on an elephant's ass.

Barely a pin prick to find.

then looking at the oil pump nylon drive gear - not looking very good and of course, to replace it means splitting the engine, so I'm trying to source a new gear. Kawasaki doesn't have it here or in Japan so that's out. There's a new one on EBay at $280 USD ouch!!!. So I'm on the hunt......

A little too rough on the drive side for me.

At Z1300 parts in Germany they have it new for 87 Euros, I don't think the shipping to Canada exceeds its price.

Added.
In the possible case that you buy more pieces, their catalog is extensive, shipping may be cheaper.

I spent another hour fumbling around the MCG site which is in German and found the gear listed in the section " Oil Pan / Filter". There is another section called "Motor" which would have been a better place to put the gear since it's mounted on the secondary shaft, or there is also a section called "clutch / gearbox" which is in effect where you would find the secondary shaft. But anyway, I found it and then tried to fill out the order form. Copying and then translating the copy to understand what information is needed and to go where was a bit of a problem but eventually, I managed to get an order in. Waiting now for MCG to reply with a final amount.

A big shout out to MCG  www.z1300.de     for reproducing those tough to get parts for the KZ1300, Z1300 and the ZN1300 that are no longer available. Where would we be without guys like these helping out this very small niche of lovers of one particular not so popular bike in the big picture of motorcycles. Thank you !!!
Please consider buying from them and supporting their business because if they don't thrive and go under, we'll have lost a great resource that I'm sure we'll all need in the future.

Thank you Helmut  MCG@z1300.de  for the quick turn around on the purchase of the oil pump drive gear. Looking forward to its arrival.

In the meantime, I've got some serious cleaning to do to prep the engine for reassembly. I've also decided that I would prefer a black engine with polished side covers and cylinder head cover. Time to get to work.
