Returning to the thread.
Today I took my “Champion Bike” out and rode about 300 km. to a classic vehicle flea market.
Truth be told, I just went to browse around but ended up buying a few items for my pseudo-workshop.
A few assorted cable clamp terminals can solve a cable breakage problem without having to go to the official dealer.
I used one of these parts when I replaced Christine's clutch cable.
A motorcycle glass fuse box from the '80s, I found it at a good price, 10 euros for the whole set.
A mechanic's stethoscope to listen to the Gremlins inside the engine.
A compression tester, I won't have to ask anyone for it anymore, it will be the first thing I will use before I disassemble Christine's engine again.
A nice four clock vacuum gauge, I'll have to watch a couple of tutorials on YouTube to find out how it works.
Another thing I always wanted to have is a double anti-theft device for full-face helmets from the '80s, I don't know why the hell they stopped making them.
I bought this one still in its original case without ever having been used.
I spent about 150 euros from my box of cookies, I told my wife that I hadn't bought anything since I was going with the bike, I was just going for a walk and a look around.
I will soon resume my love/hate relationship with Christine after giving us both some time for reflection.

Kawboy, sorry to hark back to page 4 of this post where you noted the O rings on the float valves should be replaced with Viton75's. Just back from my local seal shop with Viton O rings 4.5mm ID and 1.5mm thick but they look a little too small for the float valves - the groove on the valve where the O ring sits measures around 7.7mm diameter by 1.8mm deep - with the replacement O ring installed, it doesn't look like it will do the job - photo has old O ring on the top, new Viton O ring installed on the valve, and replacement Viton O ring to the bottom. Just wanted to double check this sizing as I see these O rings aren't a seperate part from Kawasaki anyway. I final got the top end back together and engine running but as the solenoid fuel valve is no longer fitted, carbs leaking fuel so need to replace these O rings (and recheck float levels) then remember to turn fuel tap off every time the engine is turned off.

I did it and I forget to close it every time I stop the engine.

You should mount a Suzuki GS1000 membrane valveKawboy, sorry to hark back to page 4 of this post where you noted the O rings on the float valves should be replaced with Viton75's. Thanks KawBCN, I did see your post on these taps somewhere else. I have a few old Jap bikes so normally in the habit of turning fuel tap off. Ironically, the only bike I have with a diaphram tap is my GPz900A1 and it gives me no end of grief. I did try the float valve with new O ring in the carb body and the O ring has no contact, valve just slides out. I wonder if the O ring should be 7.5mm inside diameter rather than outside diameter as in the original post??
