Carb cleaning is coming good too. I'm having a tough time clearing the passage between the main jet and the slow jet on cylinder 2. Gonna try a few more things before I resort to splitting them off the rack.

Scotch makes a "Carb Cleaning Tool" and is available to purchase. It's specifically for the KZ1300 carbs. Scotch's avatar is a picture of his brass floats he makes for the 1300 carbs and the cleaning tool. Send him a Private Message if you wish.
A short write up on the tool is here. carb cleaning tool

Finished up the carb clean today. The passage from the main to the slow jet was only clogged on cylinders 1 and 2. Took a bit of doing, but I did get it in the end.

ZX11 tensioner should be here tomorrow, float bowl gaskets Friday. Hopefully an attempt at starting can be made Saturday.

So I was doing some reading, and I'm going to be bypassing the fuel solenoid. Good idea in theory, but it seems like a number of people have issues with them. My original petcock is in pretty good shape, but since others have mentioned they tend to leak, I'm not going to trust it. I'll be adding an inline shutoff valve for when the bike needs to stand parked awhile.

The Pingel tap and adapter place would be the optimal solution, but it's a tad expensive at the moment. I'll probably switch to that down the road. We'll see.
