For those who have carried our the GPZ (ZX)900R Petrol Tap Conversion, can you please help me ?

When I bought the tap, I stripped it to make sure all was well inside & it looked ok but once I tried using it, there was a leak from around the flap that selects ON/PRI/RES. It must be the large o ring that sits in the recess on the flap.
Judging by the condition of the screw heads & internals & believe this tap has not been opened up before & was from a low mileage bike.

No problem.........I just bought a kit online.
This is shown below.

Problem is I cannot find where the TWO large o rings supplied actually go.
ONE of them obviously fits in the recess, but I cannot work out what the other is for as my tap ONLY has one such o ring inside.
Mine is shown below.

A Large Black Seal OK
B Large O Ring for Flap OK
C Thin Wavey Metal Washer (goes between outer face of flap & cover plate with 2 screws.

So can anyone tell me where the OTHER large O Ring goes ??????

Isn't the other large O ring to be bent into the oval seal groove at the tank?

Ahhh, You just maybe right Bill.

I guess that would make some sort of sense & be cheaper than making a contoured ring.

Will see if it fits that oval groove tomorrow.

Thanks again

Looks very similar to a GS1000 fuel tap. 44mm bolt hole centre
you get a shaped oval O ring for the base in a overhaul kit.
i have one of these taps so i could take a few measurements if needed.
also came with 50mm bolt hole spacing.
