Just like to say hi and good to be here. Bikes I own. 82 KZ1300 A4, 86 Honda VF1000R, 93 Yamaha GTS1000, 74 Moto Guzzi Convert, 07 Ducati Multistrada 1100s, BMW k1200LT. I love to ride and restore older bikes, different stuff interests me as you can tell. I am an Engineer by trade and oil flows through my veins.

Couple of mods I have made to the KZ1300.
1 Hydraulic clutch conversion. Easy pull, no problems in traffic. Matching brake master cylinder with adjustable levers.
2 Low pressure fuel pump, supplies fuel at 2 psi, immediate starts hot or cold, comes on with ignition fed from old fuel line solenoid valve I removed. No fuel starvation in extremely hot weather.
3 Three Nology coils meant for a Harley, got rid of old coils and ignition system, uprated hot wires and caps.
4 Cooling fan over-ride switch.
4 Kicked up the exhausts to gain ground clearance, looks better, easy access to back wheel spindle.

Thx... :)

Welcome aboard!! We love eye candy on this site so how about posting some pics of your equipment. That's an impressive collection you've acquired. Enjoy the site.

Don't forget to have a look at the FAQ tab for some info regarding issues with the KZ1300 and all the tricks we've come up with to overcome them.

Enjoy!!

Welcome BIKERGUY to the forum. Photo's pronto if able. Have a soft spot for the BMW K1200LT. Less hassle than the Z1300 that own.

Yes a 1978 B2 model. Though not reg till 1980. Lucky you getting one for a 100 AUS dollars this one cost £1100 and in need of some TLC big time. Every thing had been painted with a yard brush and just spent the last 12 months bringing back to a clean and tidy bike.
Looks as though becoming a classic as prices are going up and 1 just sold for £2250 on ebay UK
