The photos are fairly self explanatory. The geometry was a bitch and i can see why therE are very few if any dampeners installed on these frames. A rider in Japan has a youtube video that shows his method of install but I prefered a mounting that had the articulating joints at 90 degrees when the wheel was straight for max. effectiveness through the entire sweep of the steering head.

Wondered if some one would notice that. It's actually two 1/4" socket universal joints married together. The design used threaded pins (with a socket head) that were easy to remove. From the two I made one that had female ends. The rest is clear in the pictures.
The pins in the articulating points required some tweaking as there was a bit of play in them. Some brass shim was used to make some "bushings" which dealt with this.
The radiator made this mod a challenge.

So how does it perform?

I'll be putting some insurance on the bike in the next few weeks so I'll keep the forum informed. years ago I had two situations where high-speed wobble could have been a serious problem - fortunately it wasn't and I don't ride "like that" anymore but the challenge to mount one has been there for years. Nothing more then seeing if it could be done !

Just thought I'd mention, because of the sidecar and no leading link, I looked at putting a steering damper on, most of the ones I could buy for a bike just didn't have the stroke length I needed for the 13, I ended up getting a steering damper for a VW Beetle, reasonable price and I just had to modify one end with a ball joint, it's dampened in both directions but no adjustment, it worked for me but I've never had any wobble with the chair on so I guess it must be set up well, cheers Pete.
