So, I just learned that my 1980 KZ1300 A2 is supposed to come with a small grab handle on the left side, to help with lifting the bike on to the center stand. It pretty much goes right across the top left rear shock mount.

What are the chances somebody's got one of these lying around....? :side:

blimey, never mind grab handle, I have one on mine but its just so heavy there is not enough leverage at the stand to get the bike on a centre stand.
unless I,m just getting old !!!!

very hard to get (according to my opinion) - mine has been a present from someone who did not need it

I was actually really surprised- this thing is easier to get on the center stand than my Honda GL1000. Not to say it's a cakewalk, but my Goldwing is an absolute pig.

Still. I'm doing the obligatory "watch eBay and hope to get lucky", but if anyone's willing to sell, let me know.

Hmmm not the easiest bike to get on the center stand, brute force and take that yer bastard seems to work for me, it also helps if its running back down the driveway a bit.

I've been on the lookout for one myself.

This winter I accidentally bought one of those handles for the touring model. Turned out that the B model ones and the A model ones have different attachment points for the handle so I couldn't even use it :(.

If yours is a B model I'd be happy to help you out if I could get some of my money back :).

Regarding the center stand, honestly the higher up you can get your bike before putting the stand down the better. When I bought my bike and the suspension was shot I couldn't get it on the centerstand unless I had 2 other ppl helping. Once I aired up the forks it turned into a one person affair lol! Try putting the back tire on a wooden plank or elevate it some other way that will probably give you just enough clearance to eliminate the tough part of the process :).
