what about putting 2 filters in the system. 1 for each feed
twice as much filter area would double the flow.

Re-manufacturing new ends isn't worth the time or effort and requires a lathe. The center-piece which joins the ends and holds the filter is the major flaw. The material used for the three pieces is poorly cast from soft aluminum(?) Some of the ads for this filter say "CNC" which implies some form of tolerance quality as well as inferring the "aluminum" used is actually aluminum. I usually equate "CNC' with an aircraft grade or similar material.
I could find no exception to this with any filter with this appearance so regardless of they are pictured or described - they all come from the same source.

The appeal of design was for cleaning and actually seeing any "Effluent" that may be getting filtered.

Placing one on each feed ( i'm assuming the reference is to my dual-line set-up) isn't practical due to space limitations under the tank or outside along the outside of the carb.

The Glass is about 3/16" thick, is cut square and the ends appear to be polished. The glass is excellent ! The design has merit. The quality is hideous !

It should be noted that this style is available in longer lengths which would provide a proportionately greater filter area but for my application I preferred the shorter version which clearly doesn't provide an adequate filter size.

As designed, this filter is a huge restriction concern and should be avoided on that fact alone.

Scotch,
I guess I shouldn't have made the assumption that an idiot could design a filter to flow as much as if it wasn't in the system (which it should when new). China strikes again.
Looking at ( I assume they're your filter's breakdown pics) I see that it is possible to manufacture a complete piece of shit. Bad materials, bad workmanship and a terrible design.
Are you assuming that KZA13's filter is also the same make as yours and that's why his didn't flow enough at 150 kph. and not because of dirt?

The term "Effluent" simply made me laugh ! Having a 'dry" and sarcastic sense of humor, I could easily visualize how that theme could go "south' if it involved a bit of Beer and maybe Scotch at a table full of similarly "warped" people ! No Foul - No points !

Your assumption regarding my assumption is correct. They appear to be all the same !

My guess is this is the same filter but with a nice looking anodized cover. There are hundreds of these things on Ebay. Take a close look at the chrome. Bad !
Really too bad because I think the appearance in general is OK !

If you want to serve up Bourbon, I'm in. I used to be a Scotch drinker but went on a bourbon tour in Louisville and learned how to properly drink Bourbon and found I prefer it over Scotch now.

Getting back on topic now. I did some calculations based on Brake Specific fuel consumption and 120 hp. burns up 60 lbs. of fuel per hour, which is a pound/minute. That being said, it works out to just under 22 oz./ min. So, if you want to get yourself a filter and do a flow test, you should get 22 ozs. of fuel coming out the end of the fuel filter per minute. Any less and you're going to be starving the engine at full throttle.
