Any advice welcome. I can spend £100 on 3 new airbox rubbers which may be causing the low rev carb issue I have but I have found a set of carbs for £175 history unknown (not that I believe what people say always)I'm thinking a spare set of carbs cleaned and set as well as I can will be a very usefull item as they are hard to find, or should I just fix what I know is wrong...the airbox rubbers, if I pass the carbs up I may never find another set at an affordable price..thoughts anyone, thanks....oh for a healthy bank account!

I'd buy the rubbers. Carb kits can be had fairly easily.

I'd buy the carbs, at that price they are a bargain. The rubbers appear on e-bay more often than carbs.

There isn't a set of carbs out there that can't be "brought back from the dead" I've overhauled a set for a cost of $15.00 AND that's with upgraded Viton 75 O-rings which I feel is a must now that we have ethanol in our gasoline.
I would say the air box rubbers are really important. On the front face of the carb are 2 air bleed orifices with metered jets around .005"-.010" sizing. If they plug up with debris, you'll have issues. Air leakage past the air box boots is unfiltered. Also the throttle slides are a really tight fit and need to be able to fall under gravity. Dirt on the slides is unwelcomed.

Do you have a link for the airbox rubbers? Is it ebay or someone else? I've just discovered I have at least one with a tear in it.
