Great explanation Neville - thank you! Now I just need to go and buy the resistors :)

Neville - the yellow wires on the right are that 1-3 split, right? And the wires on the left are the same routing as the stock wires, right?

Agree that a 0.633 ohm ballast resistor with 2.1 ohm coils is just about perfect!
Yes, wiring same as stock - but as there are now three separate resistors, the single input wire (yellow) to the stock resistor needs to be spliced into three new wires to connect to the three resistors. To make this one into three adaptor, I used some 1.5mm2 multi-strand wire (20 amp) and just twisted them all together (make sure you have enough bare wire stripped as it can get quite thick), soldered them solid and then covered with two layers of shrink wrap. All of the connectors are also crimped onto the wire and then soldered as well before shrink wrap. Maybe this is overkill but I have had a number of issues with poor connections and don't want any more!

I dont think its overkill at all. Ive seen (and fixed) wayyy too many hack electrical jobs. Im a stickler for "doing it right" any time I modify stock wiring, or add additional wiring. Everything is crimped and terminated, shrink tube, the whole 9. That picture you posted looks good, and I very much appreciate the attention to detail. Thats what separates tasteful modifications from hack bullshit.

Thank you Neville again.

maniac1886 - I think we are getting things sorted! I'm going to post photos on my thread once done with mine.

Neville - I have one more question. The Kawasaki coils are mounted with bolts and brass tubing. The mounting holes on the AW82 coils are smaller than those on Kawasaki coils. Did you use different size bolts and skipped the tubes?
Another quick one. You also had 2.2 Ohm coils and it worked well with 0.4 resistor. Since I haven't bought mine yet, would you suggest going with 0.4 or should I get 0.5?
Two coils are 2.2 and one 2.3. I could get 0.5 for 2.2 and 0.4 for 2.3.

Just called NAPA auto-parts and was told they don't carry ballast resistors except for some american cars??? I will have to pay them a visit and show them exactly what I need.
