Been a while since I posted progress on the bike but here’s a few photos of where I’m up to so far.

Looking good! I have a couple questions.

Regarding paint - did you use primer? Did you heat treat the paint after painting? I had problems with VHT paint, but I don't have a place to heat treat. The recommended 400 F is way too much anyway for seals etc. Mine was matte though.
Another one: the spark plus boots. 2 shorter ones and 4 longer? Where did you get them?

I only took off the crankcase covers, sump and cam cover box off the engine after painting. These covers were masked off first. The engine was out of the frame, degreased and then sanded with scotchbrite pads. Degreased again then painted. The bike has been totally stripped back to the frame and the frame has been powder coated. You’ll notice that the fairing brackets have been removed as these wasn’t present on UK bikes. All the crankcase covers have been rechromed and nuts and bolts have been zinc/nickel plated

Stan, I’ve put links to the website where I bought the plug caps and a link to the website for the paint. I didn’t use a primer as if I remember correctly they only recommend a primer on bare metal.
I’ll cure the paint by using the heat of the engine once I get it started as the paint is touch dry after 30 minutes and doesn’t rub off like some other VHT paints.
