I am a bit ahead of myself but just couldn't resist (no pun intended) and tested the coils.

I am quite happy to announce the results. By the manual, the primary winding should read between 1.2 - 1.9 Ω, and the secondary 12 - 18 kΩ. Mine are 1.5 and 15 respectively for all coils. I am keeping them.

Stan: Just to be sure... You should check the error spec of your meter - for some ohm meters the error spec can be larger than the resistance measured.

Stan. If you enlarge your photo of the master cylinder BEFORE it was so beautifully restored, that dust seal appears to be fitted OVER that disc part - this is assuming it was assembled correctly originally. And, on page 134 , illustration G41 shows it too - I think!

I love the foot peg parts - they look as though you have chromed them Really nice!

Yes, in the before photo it was over the disc part, but that was either not the correct seal or a completely different shape. That photo can't be taken as reference. The OEM part which I bought and is correctly numbered has different design.
Thanks for pointing that page out, I will look for it today and check it out. I've been trying to get this info from looking at photos on eBay, but no luck! Nothing came up on the forum search as well. Might be that I have to change it. Oh well... if it has to be done.

I haven't found anything about calibration in the instructions for this tester.. But based on my experience using it I'm quite sure it's accurate. And it's a Snap-On! I trust this brand. I'll look into checking how it reads a defined resistor if I get my hands on one, be it even just for academic reason.

Biltonjim: yes, all the parts are chrome plated, including that link assembly for activating the master cylinder and the switch. The brake pedal was fine and just needed a bit of shining.
