I'm very pleased with the seat as well. It's ALL original as is and nothing has to be done to it except dusting off. The hinges ordered and the only thing missing is - the bike!! LOL

You were very fortunate to obtain a tail light lense. They seem to be almost non existant - at least uncracked ones anyway. And the seat is a great find.

Yes. A shop has been closing it's doors and these things popped up as they dug through piles of stuff. Needless to say, I got there thanks to networking and good timing, and I'm grateful to good people for that.

Going through my second carb set. All ready for assembly except this small detail. I hope Scotch will jump in. I remember in your post Scotch where you installed (soldered) a collar at the end of these. My question is, solder the crack, then solder the inner smaller diameter tube. Have you taken this apart? How far down this inner tube goes and if you had to, where can I find a piece? I'd imagine it's just a shallow collar like (although inner) piece. I am thinking about just cutting a piece from any brass sheet, soldering it and drilling out.
The two photos will explain better than words what I mean.

I've seen this quite a few times. Seems to be common. At least with the sets I've bought and rebuilt. The reason the tube cracks, I don't know definitively but expect it's because at some time during the life of the carbs, they've had water in the bowl(s), it's frozen inside the tube - cracking it. I prefer to slip another piece of brass tube over the existing. Whether a "short" collar for the end or full length - this needs to be addressed. Either way - Clean the pick-up with some "Scotch-Brite" ( No pun intended). Solder carefully. The metering jet that's missing is about .024" and should be replaced BUT - there is a similar metering jet in the bottom of the pick-up well (in the bowl) so you might be OK with just the one. Why there are two, I can't explain.

Probably a bit late, but I powder coated.. still looks good over a year later.. even with gas spills
