Center-Stand vs. DG Header was created by scotch
Don't know why it took all these years to figure this out. My center-stand went back on today; permanently. The Header is no longer a problem.
About 3 hours: start, to on the bike.

Very Cool Bob! I keep my centerstand on the shelf and only bolt it on for maintenance. Presently, I'm fabricating a set of baffles for another bike but as soon as they're done I'll get after my stand.

Thanks

Bill

Just wondering as to why you didn't use the longer stopper bar that came with the DG pipes ? or is it that it doesn't give enough clearance when leaning (as I have the sidecar and don't lean) ??

which reminds me, I must straighten that :-)

after tuesday even the calendar goes WTF

Don't remember any such "stopper-bar" with my header and as the center-stand couldn't be used as-is, one was never made nor installed, until now.
There is a hole in the spreader-bar that conveniently accepts a rubber bumper which aligns perfectly. Any adjustment required to position the retracted stand could be facilitated by using a longer bolt and jamb-nuts on the rubber-bumper, in conjunction with rotating the spreader-bar.

Hi
The DG pipes you are referring to in this thread , is it the 6 into 1 that are currently selling?
I am considering purchasing a set but want to ensure I still have a functional centre stand
Thanks ted

I have a set of DGs on my A4 and as KZ1300A said the system came with an attachment bar that bolts to the frame to serve as the mainstand stopper. It does hold the centre stand lower than it's normal position but in fairness I have ridden my bike on some fairly twisty roads in a spirited manor and have only ever dragged the centre stand a couple of times. I am sure there are guys out there who would ride harder and faster than me who would drag it all the time, but for normal to spirited riding it will do the job fine.
My 2 cents worth.
