tacho cable routing was created by paulb
Hi guys
has anyone got any photos of the tacho cable routing,i am getting a vibration through the clocks when I move the cable it stops, I have never had this before and can only assume I have somehow routed the new cable wrongly although I have installed a new one on various occasions without issue
thanks
Paulb

no just changed it for a brand new cable so I am assuming it is ever a routing problem or a connection problem

Is it possible the "inner" has a very small kink or flaw in the twist? I'd pull it out, wipe it clean and run it through my fingers a few times to feel for any anomaly. Check both "square" ends for symmetry and ensure both coupling-nuts are threaded fully on and snug. It would be tough to route it wrong as it's so short and basically makes an "S" type of path from the tach to the cam-cover.

Another hypothetical: Could you have the "inner" in the "outer" - backwards. That could put undo pressure on the tach-end or cam-end receiver - may be ? The pictures are of a spare tach-cable I have which I just opened. The inner/outer end-for-end orientation is presumed correct.

Thanks for your help guys, I have taken out the cable and checked it and its fine although even when tightened up there seems to be movement at the drive gear end[only slight] I am wondering if I have lost a seal at that end which is creating the slight play in the cable which is making the needle eratic although I cant recall there being one
thanks
Paul
