Brass Floats

I am no longer selling Brass floats to the U.S.

Thanks to "You Know Who" and his fucking tariff bullshit, my export duties on a set of Floats is $56.00 CDN plus a $10.00 service fee !   This does not include the U.S buyers import tariff fees and cost of shipping.

No issues at this time sending my floats elsewhere, internationally.

Is USA applying the export tax before the floats cross the border and has to be paid by you and then applying an import tax that the purchaser has to pay?

YES !    Plus 2 documents that are required to be filled-out "on-line" plus a Photo and description of the floats.

It's impossible to fathom that a set of hand-made floats for a 45 year old motorcycle can pose such an egregious threat to the G.D.P.  and the National Security of the Kingdom of the U.S.A. !

What if they were a gift?

Or a feller sent you a carb rack for 'service work'?

A choice of 3 categories to choose from.   "Gift", "Unsolicited Sample"  or "Sale".  The difference is up to  $7.00.  Plus;  There is now the implication that "Canada Revenue Agency" will be involved !

I'll continue to send my Floats to Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Finland, Poland, Spain, South America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand..... and others......as I have in the past.

Before someone suggests the OBVIOUS...."Customer pays all the fees" ; this is now a matter of principle.  I'm not "Bending the Knee" for this idiocy !

That's the END of this topic !!!!

When I bought something in the UK, they charged me almost 30% in tariffs. It's bloody Brexit, punishing the British for having the balls to leave the European Community.

I have to fill out a form giving power of attorney to a law firm to process the import on my behalf.
If I don't pay the fees and lawyers, the shipment stays in a customs warehouse and is not returned to the seller.

The same thing happened to me with some ignition pads I bought directly from a dealer in Japan.

I didn't have to pay anything for some spare parts I bought in Australia. It seems that Spain is on good commercial terms with the folks Down Under.  I have never purchased anything from Canada or the United States at this time.
