I'd say that's a fair price but............heat that puppy up and straiten it first ! Before having mine nickel-plated I Had to do just that. I used an O/A torch and it straitened easily. Must have tempered it in the process because 30+ years later it's still strait.

Glad you said that Scotch, as I need to straighten mine (from where it's been bent for shortened suspension).
Can you recall how hot you had to go, for example did the metal have to glow cherry red or not that high a temp?Richard.
P.S. does that mean you restored yours at the age of 15?!!

I was playing with matches at 2, Zippo's at 4 and fire-cracker cannons at 9. Got my O/A certificate at 12 so when I got my P/P license at 17, I was fully armed and capable of dropping all types of ordinance with the exception of "nukes". Thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I was given access to smoke-canisters for jumping !
So heating-up a side-stand .......? Gases and flames - oh ya !
Everything but the shoe and clevis heated to a barely perceivable light red, then whacked it (Gently) a few times (using a block of wood for backing). Let it cool on it's own..

Sounds good (ordnance aside!) thanks Scotch, a little job for the next few days hopefully.
