Any 300hz capable oem boost control solenoids out there?
6 years 10 months ago - 6 years 10 months ago
Hi,
I was directed here by some friends of mine. I have a custom application that I need a 300hz capable 3 port boost control solenoid for. The oem boost control solenoid for the engine/ecu runs at 300hz 12v PWM and controlled a vacuum signal to a variable geometry turbo actuator canister. I've converted this engine to use a compound turbo arrangement using a Tial 38mm external gate to control high pressure stage boost. The issue I'm running into is the oem solenoid is designed for vacuum only and it's simply passing the pressure signal I'm using now straight through it. I can't change the HZ the ecu is putting out so I'm stuck to the 300hz area. I've tried a 30hz rated 3 port solenoid and it wasn't happy at all. Does anyone know of any late model oem boost control solenoids that run at the high hz ranges? I've heard the GM 1997152 might be able to, but nothing concrete on it.
Please help.
I did not find the right solution from the internet.
Thanks
