I used a Kawasaki vacuum petcock on my 1979, i'll attach a photo to show where to hook up the vacuum line, as was said it's one of the connections to balance your carbs, just take the bolt out and put in a nipple

after tuesday even the calendar goes WTF

the first of the gsx1100s had a screw in the side of the tap 1979/80 have a look on eBay there is a lot of new ones for sale get the later one 1980 on it has the tap they are all the same fitting through to 1987 efg you will need to use one of the vacum fittings on the inlet track if you have a us model one of the emission fittings will do on the middle cylinders make sure you google gs1100 as that is the correct model nz aust and the uk called them gsx

this ebay.com # i got from this forum
it has a vacuum unit on it if that's what you are after
the same crowed also have a GSX Gravity feed unit but looks like you need to buy a separate Knob on/off
Rick on this site advised Quite logically as to why the Vacuum unit is the best, my bike however does not seem to have a Vacuum feed to allow for this Good luck

Hi Gents,

Just finishing off the GT380 so I can get fully started on the Z1300. Whilst fitting a new fuel tap to the GT 380, I thought, will this fit the z1300 tank, It does. Fitted it to the tank and then on the bike just to make sure it doesn't obstruct anything. The same fuel tap is also fitted to the GT750 and I think the GT550. It is of the vacuum type.

Yet another option if you are looking to replace your fuel tap.

Regards

Martin
