Still trying to sort out the problem re no spark and while pulling the loom apart will do the conversion to remove the ballast resister. Been looking on ebay and looks as though most units are in the States?
Shall be going to the Stafford bike show on the 26th April and will have a rummage in the auto jumble, but will be sod's law none around.
Here's a link to a set on Ebay for $95 U.S. complete with high tension leads. I bought the identical set and measured the primary at 2.6 ohms. Close enough for me.
Edit- Can't get the link to go in ??? anyway search Ebay for CBX 1000 coils and you'll find a set from Z1 Enterprises @ $95 U.S.
