Just added a sub alternator to my A1. So do I need two regulators ?Or do you wire the extra stator into the existing voltage regulator? If so do you wire it to the stator out put AC side or out put DC side on the regulator? BTW The sub alternator was sourced from a Voyager 1300,thanks.

I have not ever fitted one but my thoughts are that a complete second system including regulator would be needed you couldn't hook them together because you might to have one feeding the other and end up with nothing where with a second system they both see a battery that needs charge or lights that need power and deliver it.

If you have a service manual which covers the -82 model, you will have at the end the schematic which shows how Kawasaki did it.
My 82 has originally two alternators, both have their own reg/rec and they are connected to the main harness.
Hope this helps,
Lauri

FWIW, the ZN1300 supplement manual show the two alternators, each with it's own rectifier/regulator, but the wiring harness connects the two together as Lauri said.
