Yeah it's a pain in the ass to figure it out sometimes. And one will fit into the other but not the other way...scotch wrote: This topic found me "Googling" further and I learned something. I have always been under the impression that "Pipe Threads" were universal. Apparently this isn't the case as the following screen capture indicates. It probably explains why I initially had trouble getting a standard brass "tee" to easily thread into the block when I was configuring an oil pressure gauge. I eventually got the Male end to thread into the tapped port in the block. Alignment to start the threads was critical.
Anyway, does anyone know what size threads the water temp sensor at the front of the block is? Seems like 5/8-18 but I don't have anything to check it with. Seems like fine thread 5/8 bolts aren't common down here...
