I am going to get some more fuel line on Monday and I think I will route it your way. (Over and under and up)
Was just thinking it would be harder for the fuel to be drawn "up" into the three carbs, but if you say it will pull fuel fine, that will do me.
I am also going to fix the seal between the two aibox sections today with some Sealant.
The fuel that leaked out of the left hand carb dribbled down the inside of the airbox and leaked out of the gap straight onto the motor, ruining the nice Hi Temp Silver paint that I spent ages getting right......
It didn't even get time to cure......

Bummer about the paint.
As for fuel flow, because the fuel tank sits so high, that provides the head pressure against the float valves. (No matter how the hose bends between the two points. As long as it's not kinked.)
Is your fuel hose a thick wall tubing? That will prevent kinking.

The thick stuff is what I'll get Monday.
Again, it just didn't look logical to have fuel go all the way under then hope it makes it up a vertical rise to the carb. Especially with gravity feed.
Your theory makes sense and I guess that's how it was designed.

i used silicon vacuum hose, its thicker walled designed not to kink..

But more importantly, you need to find the real reason why the carb overflowed in the first place, or it will just keep happening & this will have a gross effect on your starting & general running.
Its either the rubber o ring on the float valve is letting fuel past
Or
The float valve & its seat is worn & letting fuel past
Or
Both the above.
Or
Your float height is too high so not stopping fuel at any level.
Or
You float is sticking & letting fuel past.
As your carb has been overflowing, you also need to check the oil in your engine as if the fuel has been overflowing into the engine as well as the airbox (which it often does), you could have a lot of fuel in your oil which is obviously not good & once again will have a bad effect on starting.

10 years 9 months ago - 10 years 9 months agoI used silicone vacuum hose for the fuel pressure regulator on my ZG & found after about 6 months of use that it started to degrade; it started to discolour & become sticky to the touch on the outside of the tubing near the connections on the inlet manifold. I know silicone tubing isn't compatible with fuel (that's why you shouldn't use it for fuel lines) & they sell it as vacuum tubing, but my thinking is that atomised droplets of fuel were somehow finding their way inside the tubing from the inlet tracts & degrading it.
