Well, this got interesting. Still out of my snack bracket @ $1008 USD, but somebody along the way had L.A. Sleeve produce sleeves for a 64mm bore leaving a substantial wall thickness down at the bottom. they also suggested that these could be bored out to 66mm if I wanted but the wall thickness throughout the total length would be .0077" and I think that's too light. Even if you just used it for a 64mm big bore, the wall thickness would be .127 I've attached the PDF drawing that L.A. Sleeve sent me and you can download it if you choose.

Regarding piston rings, Scotch used those from IMD.

This is an interesting website. I had no idea that there were so many different piston ring designs, and materials.

Pages 8 to 17 .
The section on honing is interesting too, following on from what you were saying about plateau honing, kawboy

Early 1300 were known oil burners - I was under the impression one of the 'fixes' in later model 1300's was to increase the number of oil ring land drain holes???Interesting note that there are an addition 6 oil drain back holes below the oil scraper ring plus the same 6 holes behind the oil scraper ring

You are correct. They fixed the problem and the zn1300's got an additional 5 drain back holes below the oil scraper land.

OK with all the information I have including from this forum I have drawn up a liner for 66-67mm pistons that I think will work, 66m has a wall thickness of 3mm and 67mm is 2.5mm which I think is not a bad size I have made this very simple but can have bottom O-rings added etc, but for my purpose it was something to send out for quotes. I have attached two images for people to comment on good or bad.
