That description fits my riding pretty well. Here in Oregon the upper speed limit is mostly 65 MPH except for Interstate 84 which runs East and West along the Columbia river where it bumps up to 70 MPH. Of course traffic goes somewhat faster and if you're just keeping up the State Police will leave you alone. I'm pretty sure 80 MPH will get their attention.Normal cruising 60-70 mph but some accelerations up to red line just to hear the 6-1 singing. Sensible joy and pleasure.

Sometimes it feels I am so slow I have the flies on the back of the helmet ...
Honestly like some of the others, the German Autobahn is so full (of cars as well as of idiots) I try to avoid it. Smaller roads will be much more comfortable yet slower, and 50 to 70 mph will do. Unless you are in Switzerland of course where the limit is at 50 mph (Autobahn there is at 75 mph) and the tickets are awfully expensive.
