Thanks guys on the comments.
3 hours of work on the fan and it's complete and ready to install. Cut the back half off of the two shrouds and installed the KRX 1200 shroud back half on to the front half of the KZ1300 shroud. TIG welded the pieces together with my new Thermal Arc 186 using pulse tig at 32 amps high current and 20 amps low current. The shroud housings are 32 gauge sheetmetal (.038")and I chose to do butt weld joints. Really happy with the machine. I was a welder by trade 30 years ago and I chose to do this particular mod just as a challenge for myself.
anyway, here's the pics.

So in conclusion, The ZRX fan blade has similar blade profile to the KZ fan blade although the ZRX blades is slightly shorter front to rear compared to the KZ blade. Both motors are made by Denso and sound to be rotating at the same RPM. Of course the ZRX fan has 7 blades as opposed to the 4 blades on the KZ so it's expected to push or in this case pull more air through the rad. I did a bench test of the 2 fans before the mod and would say the ZRX fan moves about 30% more air than the KZ fan.
Here she is all ready to install.
