Thank you. Used a hvlp, divilbiss gravity sprayer. The paint was a custom mix by WFO Custom Paint. I found them on Facebook. Apparently he has been color matching old paint for years. It might not be 100000% the same as the factory color, but it sure is damn close. It really is top notch. The small bit of metal flake he was able to incorporate is beautiful. Can only ship in the USA fyi.
Had to reduce it 1-1/2 with a PPG DT reducer (recommend by the WFO). Did 3 medium coats of paint and 2 coats of clear. It’s not flawless and there were some runs, but was able to get anything noticeable out with wet and dry sanding between coats… 4 lighter coats may have been a little less labor intensive in the long run though. Then finished it off with a nice buffing compound/polish.
cheers

One of my absolute favorite things to do is traveling around and checking out distilleries and one of my absolute favorite sipping whiskeys is Wild Turkey's American Honey Sting which I can't get up here in Ontario Canada. The only way I can get it is to travel to USA and buy it. So that being said, I would like to know more about Burlock and Barrel's Whim Jalapeno Honey and where I might buy it in maybe New York or direct from the distillery? That info would be my prize for guessing the photo contest.
I see from the website, Burlock and Barrel had their grand opening 12-5-19 so just before Covid struck, a really difficult time to be starting a business. Kudos. One of these days if I ever get back to Florida, I'll have to stop in to the distillery in Jacksonville to check it out. I had no idea that there would be a distillery in Florida. When I think of Florida, I think of citrus products being grown not Rye grains and Corn.
There's definitely a story here. Please share Whiskey 1300. We all love a good story.
And in case you haven't figured it out by now, I'm a bit of a nut nut over American Whiskeys and Bourbon. So much more interesting flavors than the Scotch Whiskies we get here in Canada from Scotland. I probably have 12-15 different Bourbons and American Whiskies in my personal stock. Our biggest problem here in Ontario is our Liquor Control Board of Ontario. as I understand it, if a distillery or winery wants to distribute their product in Ontario, they have to guarantee a supply of (as I remember it) 5000 bottles a year and if they can't, then the LCBO won't carry their products Really is sad for guys like me who like to enjoy different products.

I like puzzles so a little photo manipulation and I come up with Burlock and Barrel Distillery in Jacksonville Florida and the picture was taken in the barrel storage area so I'm guessing that Whiskey1300 is one of the 2 founders who decided to take the picture in "the shop" How else would you get a freshly painted gas tank in a distillery for a photo op? So am I talking to Colin or Ian??Screw the gas tank, with your moniker AND pics of whiskey barrels in the background..
What's the backstory?

Just a little update. My tank sprung a little little tiny annoying bang your head against the wall leak. So I ended up removing the POR… what a nightmare. After scratching my head trying all sorts of dumb ideas to close up the pinhole, I sent it off to be professionally sealed and voila, no leaks. I did have to sacrifice the pin stripes on the tank. New ones coming soon. But the bike looks great and runs amazingly. I’ll be heading over to my dads this weekend for the reveal.
