OK if any of you ever see me feel free to give me a slap round the earhole for expecting the tap mesh to filter out all the fine crap from the tank.
just spent the afternoon stripping the carbs and blowing out all the crud.
drained the tank down and washed out a load of fine red dust
ive swapped the fuel tap for a vacuum operated GPZ tap
and ive taken the vac pipe from the No1 inlet
crude but effective hopefully

Good to hear you got out at the weekend (foggy & wet here all weekend) & sorry to hear of the problems..........but I have been there too in the past !!
Sounds like the o ring in your petrol tap is hard which is often the reason why it gets hard to turn once it gets heat from the engine.
Flooding is no doubt float valve seats or o rings, or hopefully just float height settings.
I hope you have better luck with the GPZ Tap than I did mate !!!
