Hi Paul'
Yes I do recognise that bike. I remember it was 1998 when I had an accident on it. I was about to fit the sidecar and had already fitted the leading link with trail reduced from 100 to about 50mm. But before I fitted the sidecar, I did a couple of trips to Phillip Is. (with the leading link) and one to a Triumph rally at Jindabyne. It all went well and I actually did some fairly fast riding on the Alpine roads without any handling problems. Then the day came to fit the sidecar and I had it all set up on the garage floor, but decided to ride to the local airport where a mate of mine was hanging out with some friends. He was a champion sidecar racer and knew a lot more about them than I did. We had a chat and he said he would come and give me a hand. I rode back home (about 2km) and was doing about 80km/h on the overpass of the Hume highway when I got a sudden and violent tank slapper. The next thing I knew was there were people all around and the Air Ambulance was nearby. I spent three day in the Alfred Hospital and lost a lot of skin--nothing broken. When I got home, I totally pulled the bike to bits and basically did a restoration, and then fitted the sidecar. It ended up a lot better machine than before I crashed.

I believe the forum moderator will need to give you access to upload photos Gert. I'm sure he will be along shortly

this problem comes up often. The pics need to be less than 2.5 Mb each for the forum to accept.

Hello from east coast Canada!
I look forward to pictures and more stories about what you've done to these beasties over the years.
