Nice work that and well done too !

I am just in the process of rebuilding my 1980 Z1300 after doing exactly the same work as you on the engine and frame paint.

Hopefully have everything back together and running this weekend.

Thanks and good luck with your rebuild. The prep for painting took me ages and I used a whole reel of masking tape, countless Dremel brushes and nearly ran out of thinners... Love to see some pics when you have finished...

Good job !!
I see that when you put the old nylon gear on the shaft with the Liska gear and set on the table for the pic, that the assembly is leaning suggesting that the old nylon gear is smaller in diameter from wear. Good call replacing the 40 year old nylon gear. I'm still on the fence as far as the pros and cons of the metal Liska gear but maybe leaning towards the Liska over the stock replacement (of which I have 2 of)
Changing out the rubber tensioner wheel is another good call. Don't know that I would trust a 40 year old rubber part that's been soaked in oil even if it's designed to run in the hot oil.
