What's not to recognize. That is the cover to the pulsing coils housing. It has obviously been polished, and possibly chrome plated. That housing is found on 1979 and 1980 Z1300's and KZ1300's.

Hi Kawboy
The seat and tail piece are from a 1982 Yamaha xj550 and I used a (I think) a z900 tail light.
I can post a photo of tail light if you like
I custom made brackets so that the seat opens up the same as the original with locking mechanism.
