ClintsMotorcycles wrote: Well, I most definitely had a bad ground. There is a ground wire that goes from the air distribution gizmo to the frame via a ring terminal. When I removed the bolt that connects the ring terminal to the frame, the paint underneath the terminal was not scraped off. Probably came like that from the factory. So, I scraped off the paint, smeared on some dielectric grease, put it back together and just like magic it started working, kind of.
Now, when I try to pump up the front shocks, it seems like there is a dead short as all the lights on my console go out when I do that. I gotta figure out what the problem is with that, or find a replacement on ebay. But, at least 1/2 of the system works now.
Thanks for the tip.
You have two wires that can be the issue in the console
Black/yellow (ground) or Red (positive)
run temp direct wire from the battery, one at the time and see which fix the problem
if the ground, you can run short wire to any close bolt (unless you want to find the location of the broken wire)
if the positive, you need to check two locations,
one will be at the ignition switch, NOTE: at the ignition switch it will be the BLUE wire
or it may be Relay # 1 is the issue
let me know if any of this help or if you pin point to which on is the issue and we can take it from there
