What Is That Adjustment On the Left Grip?

I've tried to find this in the factory service manual, but came up empty.

So what the heck is that adjustment screw that sticks out of the left grip? It sticks out of the bottom, and it's essentially a screw with no head but a screwdriver slot, and a lock nut.

I assume it has something to do with the clutch, but have found no reference for this.

P.S. I got the mufflers installed, and the cleaned fuel tank, and the paperwork for the title transfer and new registration submitted. Plus the euro handlebars. Main thing left is mounting the aftermarket headlight ears and the used headlight assembly, then the turn signals.

The screw and lock nut on the bottom of your left handlebar switch, is a location screw which goes up into a pre drilled hole in your handlebars to prevent the switch moving around and keep it in the correct position
If you fit non standard handlebars, you need to drill a new hole to line it up with.

It's main purpose is to provide an electrical ground for the turn-signal cancel solenoid, which is in the housing. And it secures the assembly.
The only hole required for new handle bars is for the throttle side so the "Button"' on the inside of the housing half, can fit into the bars. Stops a potentially dangerous situation if the throttle cable housing were to loosen enough to otherwise rotate.
Don't drill a hole for the left side "pointy-bolt".

I was not aware of that Scotch.................and dont ever recall it ever being refered to as that in any K Manual anywhere as being the MAIN PURPOSE for it.
I can however see it refered to as a "lower projection to line up with the hole in the handlebar" on page 144 ?

Please share with us all where you saw and got that information about its Main Purpose from, it would be really good to see ?

I stand corrected. There is a projection similar to the right, that fits into a hole in the handle bars. But that pointy screw remains as a ground for the solenoid.
The schematic shows the solenoid ground within the housing. Yes.....The solenoid may work without the grounding point, but that's it sole purpose, regardless.

I have got non standard handlebars on my Z1300, so the location screw is not used, and the solenoid still functions 100% well.
